Zinc conceptualizes and creates programs, interventions, and strategic communications campaigns around some of the world’s most complex problems from disinformation to extremism, media capture to authoritarianism.

Zinc works with a broad range of governmental, NGO, and private sector clients, including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID); the U.S. Department of State (DOS); the UK Home Office (HO); the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO); UN agencies and missions; and foundations.

About the Role:

Zinc seeks a Project Manager, Armenia who will assist in delivering Zinc’s work for the upcoming USAID Armenia Strategic Communications Support Activity (ASCA). The position is contingent upon funding. It will be based in Yerevan, Armenia. The individual will report to Zinc’s Component 3 (Campaigns) Lead based in Yerevan, Armenia. Zinc will prioritize candidates from Armenia for this position.

The Project Manager, Armenia responsible for planning and managing activity timelines, production schedules during campaigns, and resources, and will liaise with local suppliers, agreeing to their contracts and managing payments. They will also assist in navigating travel with their local connections and expertise. The Project Manager will have experience working in national and/or local government communications or strategic communications and have strong connections to relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

· Serve as Zinc’s Project Manager, Armenia for work on the USAID Armenia Strategic Communications Activity (ASCA) (contingent upon funding)

· Be the main point of contact for all staff working across the program, coordinating activities, advising on priorities, and triaging any issues that may arise

· Provide regular status updates to Zinc’s Component 3 (Campaigns) Lead, the Project Director, and the wider Zinc senior management team

· Coordinate resources across the program using Zinc’s systems, ensuring resources are booked in consideration of the needs of other programs

· Assist the Senior Operations Manager and wider Operations support team in delivering the program to budget, having an up-to-date understanding of project expenditure

· Assist with developing client deliverables, including input on work plans; monitoring, evaluation, and learning; and activity budgeting

· Be accountable to Zinc’s Component 3 (Campaigns) Lead, ensuring results-driven project management focused on achieving core project key performance indicators (KPIs)

· Liaise effectively with Zinc support staff based in Washington, DC, London, and the region, including teams of strategists, creators, digital experts, grants and financial administrators and compliance experts, among others

Requirements

Key Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, political science, international relations, or a related field

· Minimum of five years of progressive experience in the strategic communications, democracy and governance, media development, and/or countering disinformation space

· Experience with USAID and/or development programming preferred

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

· A good sense of humor and a dedication to turning failures into growth opportunities

· Fluency in English, Armenian and Russian languages
