About the Role:

Zinc seeks a Component 3 (Campaigns) Lead, Armenia who will oversee Zinc’s work for the upcoming USAID Armenia Strategic Communications Support Activity (ASCA). The position is contingent upon funding. It will be based in Yerevan, Armenia. The individual will report to Zinc’s Project Director based in Georgia. Zinc will prioritize candidates from Armenia for this position.

The Component 3 (Campaigns) Lead, Armenia will have strong knowledge of national and local government communication efforts and actors in Armenia, strong connections with relevant stakeholders, and a history of work in strategic communications and campaigning. They will ensure the delivery of Zinc’s campaigning assistance and serve as Zinc’s primary program lead. The Component 3 (Campaigns) Lead, Armenia will provide overall leadership, technical expertise, and strategic guidance to program staff, ensuring the program is delivering its objectives against program workplans. They will also have strong connections to civil society and be well versed in thinking and working politically.

Key Responsibilities:

· Serve as Zinc’s Component 3 (Campaigns) Lead, Armenia for work on the USAID Armenia Strategic Communications Activity (ASCA) (contingent upon funding) leading Zinc’s coordination with the prime implementer, working closely with staff implementing other components of the Activity, and liaising with Zinc technical and operational expertise

· Lead and facilitate workshops with government and public stakeholders that inform campaign messaging apply agile, design thinking methodologies to facilitation

· Oversee the on-the-ground implementation of Zinc-led activities, including strategic communications support

· Build and maintain strong relationships with all levels of stakeholders, corralling them around a common campaign cause and securing buy-in

· Ensure strategic campaign objectives are understood, communicated clearly, and are effectively delivered

· Deliver several campaigns simultaneously, on time and within budget

· Maintain visibility of all campaigns produced via the program, reporting progress to program leadership and Zinc’s Head Office senior management, based in the UK

· Manage Zinc’s team of local experts and consultants, including those specializing in product/service design, local operations, campaigns, production, influencer management, research, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning

· Assist with developing client deliverables, including input on work plans; campaign monitoring, evaluation, and learning; and campaign activity budgeting

· Apply technical expertise in strategic communications and campaigning to the Activity’s work planning; implementation; activity adjustments; and monitoring, evaluation, and learning

· Represent the Activity compellingly to the client when needed under the prime partner’s discretion and to all other internal and external stakeholders

· Be accountable to Zinc’s Project Director, ensuring results-driven project management focused on achieving core project key performance indicators (KPIs)

· Liaise effectively with Zinc support staff based in Washington, DC, London, and the region, including teams of strategists, creators, digital experts, grants and financial administrators and compliance experts, among others

Requirements

Key Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, political science, international relations, or a related field

· Minimum of seven years of progressive experience in the strategic communications, democracy and governance, and/or media development space

· Social and behavior change and/or strategic communications experience, including formative research, narrative and messaging development, and testing

· Excellent communications skills, including strong persuasive writing, oral presentations, workshops, and a high level of understan
