Job Description

TITLE: INTERN

TERM: part-time

START DATE/ TIME: ASAP

DURATION: 3 months, possibility of extension

LOCATION: Yerevan

ABOUT COMPANY: People in Need (PIN) is an international, non-profit organization established in early 1990s in the Czech Republic. Since then, PIN has grown to be the biggest organization of its kind in post-communist Europe and currently provides humanitarian and development assistance in over 20 countries worldwide.

People in Need established a country program in Armenia in 2003. PIN’s goal in Armenia is a strong civil society that takes an active part in poverty reduction and sustainable development. We work in four interlinked sectoral directions: sustainable livelihoods and environment; education and skills; good governance at the local level; and human rights promotion through independent media and media literacy.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Intern will be responsible for providing on-going support to project teams. The scope of work will comprise from logistics to researching information on specific project-related topics. Main responsibilities will be event organization, making travelling arrangements (transportation and accommodation), office logistics.

The successful candidate should be able to pay attention to details and exhibit personal commitment, drive for results, efficiency, flexibility, respect for diversity, creative thinking and problem solving.

Requirements

Administrative tasks:

  • Keep project documentation (hard copies and on internal archiving system);
  • Submit the correspondence and documentation to donors, stakeholders and beneficiaries;
  • Provide administrative office assistance (including filling, drafting correspondence, financial documentation);
  • Assist Yerevan office staff with purchases of goods and services according to PIN and donor rules, if necessary assist with procurement related tasks as to needs.
  • Support in organization of various meetings, events, trainings for beneficiaries and workshops with project partners and stakeholders;
  • Arrange transportation for staff, PIN visitors in Yerevan and projects-target beneficiaries/partners;

Logistics:

Projects related tasks:

  • Regularly update partners and service providers database;
  • Support with research activities assigned by superior team;
  • Coordinate the translation, proofreading and editing of documents as required, if necessary do it herself/himself;
  • Assist team members in preparing and formatting documents;
  • Perform other duties in accordance with instructions from Line Manager.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge/ Experience:

  • PC proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, social media skills an advantage);
  • Fluency in Armenian and English (listening, reading, writing, and speaking) required;
  • Attention to details and ability to remain calm under pressure;
  • Trustworthy and reliable;
  • Ability to plan own work and to have time management skills;
  • Communications - Good communication (spoken and written) skills, including ability to explain and present complex information and prepare written documents/communications in a concise style;
  • Teamwork - Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity;
