Head Tutor (remote)

Private Family requires a Head Tutor to take a strategic lead in developing and evaluating learning goals and qualifications to enhance progression opportunities and life skills for children aged 0-15.

Candidates should have a clear vision for successful achievement, guidance and behaviour for learning, be able to work flexibly in response to changing curriculum needs and the needs of individual child, ensure children are positively encouraged to develop their full potential and help them become successful and happy adults.

• development of teaching, learning and assessment procedures
• support other partners (schools, tutors, educational consultants etc) in developing, implementing and embedding their own strategies to raise the standards and improve the quality of education
• carry out observations of teaching and learning, accurately evaluate the quality of education and identify strengths and development areas; provide high quality verbal and written feedback following observations
• monitor, assess, record and report on pupils’ progress and development along with standards of tutoring
• create a stimulating and well organised learning environment
• actively seek information regarding the range of activities, courses, organisations and individuals to provide support for pupils to broaden and enrich their learning
• co-ordinate the production and execution of individual development plans
• manage record keeping systems and processes

Requirements

• experience working in a similar role with clear record of achievements
• STEM degree
• fluent English

• creative and inspirational, have high expectations of achievement and behaviour
• a positive 'can-do' approach
• skills and experience in problem solving and a flexible and adaptable approach
• have a strong desire to see students succeed, evidenced by key performance indicators
• excellent IT/technology skills, confident quickly learning new tools/platforms
• strong relationship management and communication skills, confident engaging with tutors and teachers
• experience giving feedback, coaching, and quality assurance within education
• excellent organisational and time management skills

• Position is remote
• Ability to travel if required
